Curated by UNSW Art & Design Curating: Social Space students

UNSW Art & Design Campus and surrounds, 5-7pm, Friday 20th October 2017

Perry Lane, Paddington 12–4pm Saturday 21st October 2017

In keeping with the aims of Woollahra Council and the Perry Lane Art Project to artistically activate public spaces in the Paddington area, students participating in UNSW’s Curating: Social Space course have curated an exciting two-part art event, titled Seeing and Being Seen.

Part one of the event on Friday 20th October, 5-7pm will activate spaces in and around UNSW Art & Design’s Paddington campus. For Part Two of the event the collective are partnering with Woollahra Council and Perry Lane Art Projects to programme artworks in the laneway, which will be specially pedestrianized for the day on Saturday 21st October, 12-4pm.

Participating artists at the Perry Lane event include: Mehmet Mevlütoğlu, with an exploratory soundscape and projection; Mollie Rice’s live performative drawing responding to the local sound ecology; and Rachel Buch’s Ghostly Gums, interacting with members of the public. Sydney artist Kim Siew will add her touch by adding to the existing mural art in the laneway and become a Perry Lane Art Project artist. Luke Power’s site-responsive sculpture will provide an architectural accent.

All Seeing and Being Seen activities are free and open to all.
