Kim Siew

I have been creating artwork both on and off the street since 2010 and usually work under the name of akisiew (a-kiss-u), a play on my first and last name.

I’m naturally drawn to paper and zine making, but I also create public murals and more recently had a short animation of mine, ‘She Swallowed The Sky’ exhibited at ‘Double Take’ for the Surry Hills Festival 2017.

I’m inspired by the art of story telling and also of people, and I like to use both to play with themes of isolation and connection. My artwork usually depicts an individual character exploring their sense of space, using graphic shapes and bold colours.
